A big update from our favorite beer app, Untappd, and Scotty B!
Wait. You want more? Okay, there are soft beer openings, there is word on the new Sierra Nevada Beer Camp 12-pack, people need to stop saying “brew”, a Los Angeles get together with some Perfect Pour listeners might have happened, the show gets ripped big time on iTunes, Mikey has excessive liquid at Chilli’s, a new drop from Paul, a beer is named after a Perfect Pour thing, are crowlers allowed in the shower? AND MUCH MORE!
Well, #IndieBeer is still causing a ruckus. People don’t seem to understand why a person would want to choose a good independent brewer over a macro or buyout brewer. We don’t understand why people think that’s dumb. The struggle is real.
The show is still getting a strong amount of listener voicemails, it’s damn near taking over things. We are pretty ok with that.
Plus, beers to look out for and beers we were caught drinking in the past week. AND Mikey is tempted buy a Ballast Point can.
We go nuts with a beer drinking device called The Sonic Foamer, does it actually give you more head…for your beer?
Plus, people are opening satellite tap rooms, is this a new trend? What is truly a local beer? We try to figure out if it’s legal to check in twice on Untappd with the same growler and New Belgium is still scaring us. Plus plenty of listener voicemails, beer drinking and beers to look out for.
Where is your ‘sweet spot’ of alcohol in a IPA? Is it 6.7%? 7.2%? We may try to figure this out.
Also this week: Untappd becomes a ‘buyout app’, some sad local beer news, what it sounds like when a tangent happens within’ a tangent, ‘look out’ for some new indie beer hitting the market, listen to a lot of voicemails and express a desire for indie canned water.
But most importantly: we have fun drinking good beer.
It’s so damn tasty. At least that’s my memory of it. Talking about Aroma Coma, seasonal IPA from Drake’s Brewing.
It was released over the weekend so you can certainly get it if you’re in the East Bay. Or maybe you’re lucky enough to be a tour stop.
Yeah, this beer is so damn cool it has its own tour. It also has two opening acts: Aroma Therapy (double IPA version) and Aroma Prieta (pale version). Did you see that? The tour stops in the Perfect Pour’s neck-of-the-woods, Clovis.
Coma 2015 is averaging 4 out of 5 stars on Untappd right now. Looking forward to ‘checking in’ to one on the 31st.
There was a huge blind taste test by Paste Magazine to determine the best IPA and your dang skippy we are going to talk about that! What’s with that new/old Ballast Point? There is magic growler drinking and the story on how we got it. There may or may not be some Fresno and Space Ghost tangents within’ episode, so, sorry? There is more more more craft beer nerding! Watch our for Tiguns and check it out:
