People Are Getting Very Un-Craft Beer About Things: Perfect Pour #135

perfectpour135

Well, #IndieBeer is still causing a ruckus. People don’t seem to understand why a person would want to choose a good independent brewer over a macro or buyout brewer. We don’t understand why people think that’s dumb. The struggle is real.

The show is still getting a strong amount of listener voicemails, it’s damn near taking over things. We are pretty ok with that.

Plus, beers to look out for and beers we were caught drinking in the past week. AND Mikey is tempted buy a Ballast Point can.

You Don’t Get To Have Everything, Macro Beer!: Perfect Pour #134

134

This week on the show, we finally tell our side of the Big #IndieBeer Battle of 2016. Sorry, you don’t get to be cool, Big Beer, and we’re going to give you some shit about it.

It’s always fun when we get to sink our teeth into a topic we are passionate about and we are definitely passionate about beer.

There’s some other stuff too.

Did we get tickets to Firestone Walker Invitational? Maybe… but we give some tips for those that want to show up in town but don’t have tickets. What happens when your taproom doesn’t have a permit for guest taps? Beers to look out for and we long for the days of crank calling.

Stay to the end for your Barly cheers… Wait, WHAT!? This episode is over two hours? That’s so indie.

Ballast Point Sells and the Bubble Bursts: Perfect Pour #123

123

Yes. We already know Ballast Point sold their soul to Big Beer. It’s beer geek freakout time, bro! Really, it’s just sad.

Not sad for the owners of Ballast Point. Not sad for the employees of Ballast Point. But maybe sad for craft beer. Or what we and Three B Zine are now calling craft beer: Indie Beer.

So yeah, we’re going to tackle the whole Ballast Point thing. And maybe explore the notion that the Craft Beer Bubble everyone talks about? Yeah it’s not craft beer’s popularity ending but Big Beer buying up so much craft that we don’t know where the lines are anymore and everyone just says “Fuck it!” “Beer is beer!”

California’s Craft Beer Community is Truly Magic: Perfect Pour Podcast #114

114

Matt returns from the California Craft Beer Summit in Sacramento with stories of how amazing the craft beer community in California is, major beer celebrities and drinking craft in hotel rooms. Speaking of, we got blocked be a Top 5 beer celeb and we figure out.

This week became a huge listener voicemail week and it is wonderful (keep the calls coming, yo!).

Oh, and we have some amazing beer from our own Scotty B – no word on if he made it while he was driving. Plus, Saint Archer sells to Miller and AB InBev trys to buy Miller.
